Ian Flux, one of Britain's most accomplished drivers and the winner of five UK racing championships - including TVR Tuscans, Thundersaloons and in GT1 - has become the latest major motorsport name to join the ever-swelling ASCAR ranks.

"I tested an ASCAR Chevy earlier this year and came away convinced it was the right way to go - the car has awesome power and is very entertaining to drive," grins Flux. "More importantly, this series will be great for British motorsport and the fans in particular."

Flux will drive the second car in David Cleal's Eclipse Motorsport outfit alongside experienced young oval track star Warren 'The Kid' Kent; a seasoned campaigner of powerful V8 racing saloons.

Eclipse Motorsport directors Cleal and Jim Lang are approaching the series with the professionalism required to ensure the team is competitive in their first season, and have affiliated themselves to one of the US's top NASCAR Busch teams - BickleSmith Motorsport. In fact, seasoned NASCAR campaigner Rich Bickle will drive for Eclipse next year at two of the major ASCAR rounds.

"We're on a rapid learning curve and we've gathered lots of valuable information regarding vehicle set-up from our American friends," explains Cleal. "Most recently we were with the BickleSmith team at the Autolite 250 Nascar Busch race in Richmond, Virginia. It was awesome!

"If ASCAR can generate just a fraction of the atmosphere of NASCAR in its first season, then ASCAR will surely be a major success and provide a whole new focus for motorsport in Europe," he concludes.
