Anglo American Stock Car Racing (ASCAR) Managing Director Mike Schmidt has confirmed that 25 of the American stock cars that will compete on the Rockingham Motor Speedway and in Europe next year, have been sold to eager customers.
Negotiations are currently underway for a further five cars and at this rate, grids of 40-plus Chevy breathing monsters are on the cards.
"Interest from mainland Europe is starting to feed through and we are talking to teams from Finland, Germany, France and Italy," says Schmidt. "ASCAR will eventually become a truly European series and it's important that top European outfits have the opportunity of joining from the outset."
