Colin White, the three times National Hot Rod World Champion, has bought an ASCAR to race in the 2001 series.

After attending the ASCAR presentation at Corby in September and the visit to Rockingham, he has decided to return to circuit racing although he still intends to continue on the short ovals. Colin, who races a VW Corrado in National Hot Rods and used to race Special GT's in the late eighties, is looking forward to the challenge.

"There is a real buzz about ASCAR, the TV package and the support from Rockingham itself is fantastic, our sponsors are really keen to get involved" said the short oval star.

Other top short oval racers such as Frankie Wainman Jnr, a leading driver in BriSCA F1, are reported to be interested in ASCAR for 2001, which should help give the series a much broader fan base.
